The Role
We are looking for an Inclusive Communities Officer who will lead the development and implementation of effective strategies, partnerships and programs that increase access, inclusion and participation in the Greater Bendigo region. The role focuses on responding to the barriers faced by our community, particularly people with disability, and advancing equity, inclusion and accessibility for all community members.
You will develop and maintain strategic relationships and networks, working collaboratively to promote access and inclusion through a commitment to responding to the priorities of disadvantaged groups, facilitate collaborative projects and advisory group, working in partnership to deliver grant funded programs and preparing a wide range of reports and submissions.
Please note this is a maternity backfill for 12 months and can be full time or part time.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive knowledge of community development, access and inclusion, social justice principles and the proven ability to effectively apply these within organisational and community contexts.
You will have an understanding of a systems change framework, the current policy context and support services, a comprehensive understanding of equity and disadvantage in our community and experience communicating and influencing outcomes for the community.
You will have demonstrated influencing skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, stakeholder engagement skills, together with strong project management skills.
If you hold formal qualifications in Social Sciences, Community Development or Social Work we welcome your application.
A satisfactory police records check and employee Working with Children check are required for this position.
