  • Days & Hours of Work: Monday – Friday totalling 38 hours per week
  • Competitive Salary: Band 6 – $96,221.61 p.a. + 11% superannuation
  • Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

The Community Inclusion Officer role has primary responsibility for identifying, implementing, and developing community inclusion initiatives, partnerships, and opportunities to promote social, economic and cultural inclusion in Bayside.

The Community Inclusion Officer position will establish productive and effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to effect change in community diversity, equity and inclusion and lead the Advisory Committee delivery of Council’s Disability Action Plan and support Council’s Disability, Access, and Inclusion.

You will be responsible for:

  • Council’s Disability Action Plan ensuring its implementation is in line with community need and legislation
  • Monitoring and evaluating community disability and inclusion initiatives
  • Managing key partnerships and stakeholders working in diversity, equity and inclusion space
  • Ensuring a high functioning Disability, Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee is in place and key Council and community items are being discussed and reviewed by the Committee
  • Ensure community diversity, equity, and inclusion are front of mind in council project developments and delivery
  • Improving access to information about relevant services and community activities that support social, economic and cultural inclusion in bayside
  • Ensuring effective initiatives are developed and implemented that address the diversity, equity, and inclusion needs of the community

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in partnerships and stakeholder management
  • Ability to influence across organisations, in cross-functional teams and settings
  • Ability to building strong community relationships including leading and coordinating committees and/or working groups
  • Previous experience in working with people with disabilities, diverse backgrounds and/or people experiencing disadvantage
  • Desirable experience in developing, implementing and evaluating multiyear strategic plans

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
