About the role
We are seeking compassionate, self-motivated Community Mental Health Practitioners eager to make a difference in people’s lives in regional South Australia. We have multiple permanent full-time and part-time positions available in Port Lincoln, Port Augusta, Whyalla, Ceduna, and Coober Pedy. As a Community Mental Health Practitioner, you will provide person-centred, recovery-oriented support to clients to achieve their recovery goals, build capacity to live safely in the community, strengthen social connections, achieve wellbeing goals and live independently. Key responsibilities
- Deliver high quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
- Support clients to return to their community and enjoy a meaningful life through an individualised approach to recovery.
- Provide information and mentoring to clients to establish relationships with families and carers, create community networks and access to relevant services.
- Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.
- Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client’s recovery goals.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
- Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
- Proven capability to implement therapeutic, recovery-oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
