The Community Mobilizers will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the “Empowering Kakai women in water and land” initiative. They will be responsible for mobilizing and engaging the Kakai community, particularly women, in activities related to grey and rainwater harvesting, solar-powered irrigation, and sustainable land utilization. The project’s primary goal is to promote climate-resilient agricultural techniques and empower the community to adopt environmentally friendly water and land management practices.

  1. Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement and Trust Building:

  • Under direct supervision and support of MI program team, community mobilizer will develop strong relationships with the Kakai community, with a particular focus on women who traditionally may not have been involved in water and land management decisions.
  • In attendance of MI program team, the CM will conduct regular meetings and discussions with community members to understand their needs, concerns, and priorities.

Awareness Campaigns and Workshops:

  • CM will facilitate to program team in organizing community-led awareness sessions on of environmentally friendly water& land management
  • Contribute to the distribution of informative materials

Demonstration Support:

  • Assist community members, particularly women, in understanding the usage of solar panel technology.

Community Capacity Building:

  • The CM, with the guidance and oversight of the program team, will conduct follow-up sessions following training to assist community members in mastering the use, upkeep, and repair of solar technologies. This will empower them to autonomously oversee and resolve any issues with the systems.
  • Under direct support and supervision of MI program team focus on empowering women to play active roles in environmentally use of water and land management.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Regularly collect data and feedback from community members regarding the adoption of new techniques.
  • Assist in recording the impact of these techniques on income generation and the overall well-being of the community.
  • Assist in compiling and preparing reports for the project team for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

Community Empowerment:

  • Encourage the active participation of women in decision-making related to water and land management.
  • Promote women’s involvement in traditionally male-dominated sectors, fostering gender equality and inclusivity.

 Community Mobilization and Networking:

  • Mobilize the community to actively participate in project activities and collaborate with local stakeholders and organizations for additional support or resources.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, specializing in WASH and agronomy, facilitating valuable contributions to related initiatives
  • Experience of working with multi-functional teams.
  • Fluency in Local language.
  • Working knowledge of English and ability to write reports in English is preferable.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of work assignments and changing priorities in high pressure and demanding environment.
  • Ability to respect and relate appropriately to people of other faiths.
