Job Summary: The Community Mobilizer assists the community by supporting beneficiaries affected by issues such as neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, and mental health. The role involves raising awareness through field visits, targeting beneficiaries from displaced families from Lebanon, and working in collaboration with the mobile team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct community awareness and outreach activities about the services provided by the project and document them.
- Raise community awareness and promote services and activities related to gender-based violence (GBV) at the center, and document these activities.
- Distribute promotional materials (brochures, leaflets, etc.) related to the center’s services and activities on GBV and document distribution.
- Create community mapping, conduct community planning, and assess the community’s needs for GBV-related services.
- Organize community activities to identify cases of GBV in schools, communities, social and sports clubs, workplaces, etc.
- Carry out community mobilization activities, distribute invitations, and prepare and support community awareness sessions held by the center.
- Provide monthly reports on activities conducted, progress made, including challenges and success stories.
- Maintain accurate records of beneficiary/case files on a daily basis.
- Prepare monthly plans and submit them to the Project Manager.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports to the Project Manager.
- Adhere to service ethics and the center’s code of conduct, as well as instructions provided by UNFPA, the Ministry of Health, and the health center, at all times.
- Comply with the use of all forms, guidelines, and standard operating procedures developed, along with all documents recommended by UNFPA, the Ministry of Health, and the health center at all times.
- Adhere to safety, privacy, confidentiality, and information-sharing guidelines set by UNFPA and the Ministry of Health for all center clients, cases, files, and records at all times, whether internally or externally.
- Attend and complete training courses related to capacity building and continuous learning as specified by UNFPA and the Ministry of Health at all times.
- May be responsible for other tasks assigned by the Project Manager and Social Researcher, including awareness sessions in public and governmental facilities.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the organization’s management.
Supervisory Responsibility: None.
Supervisory Structure:
- Reports directly to: Project Manager.
- Works directly with: Community Mobilizer.
Knowledge and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a related role is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English are required.
- Good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email, are required.
- Previous experience working with an NGO is a plus.
