Background
Public Aid Organization –PAO; is a non-governmental, independent, non-profit and public utility organization. It works according to its humanitarian values in order to improve and settle the principles of human rights, establishing a developed civil society. This will be done by carrying out the developing and permanent programs and projects as it is guided by the United Nations’ declaration concerning the third millennium. PAO established in 1992 well rooted and present with offices in all Iraq.
Community Mobilizers-SAD
The Community Mobilizer role in engaging and mobilizing communities to actively participate in the project implemented by PAO in the targeted locations. The community mobilizer will work closely with technical staff to build relationships, facilitate community participation, and promote the integration program under Amal project the community mobilizer will collaborate with local stakeholders, community leaders, and PAO project team to ensure the project’s successful implementation and achieve the desired outcomes.
Location: Tikrit and Balad, [Iraq]
Duties & Responsibilities
-Build strong relationships and rapport with community members, including local authorities, stakeholders and community leaders, in the target location.
-Conduct community assessments to understand their needs, challenges, and priorities related to the project objectives.
-Organize and facilitate community meetings, focus group discussions, and awareness sessions to gather community input and promote participation.
-Mobilize community members to actively engage in project activities.
-Act as a liaison between the community and PAO’s project team, conveying relevant information, concerns, and feedback.
-Establish and maintain effective coordination with local authorities, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
-Engage with local with civil society groups to promote collaboration.
-Participate in relevant meetings, workshops, and events to represent PAO and share project updates and achievements.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

–University degree or equivalent in Education, Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields
– Minimum 1 year experience in community mobilization, grassroots organizing, or working with national /or international NGOs
-With a strong commitment to community development and gender equality
-Familiarity with the cultural, social, and economic context of Iraq, particularly in the target locations
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse community members
-Proficiency in local languages is required; knowledge of English is an advantage.
