Job SummaryTo deliver a flexible service across all frontline activities to meet the needs of the Public Service’s work plan including Highway maintenance work, Street Cleansing, Waste and Recycling collections, Cemetery and Grounds maintenance as required.Full AdvertAn opportunity has arisen for self-motivated individual to carry out the principal accountabilities of a designated role within the Highways & Winter Maintenance Service and to provide flexible support within the Integrated Front Line Service, delivering the Division’s work plan across the County Borough.Successful candidates will be required to drive any relevant vehicle within the Authority’s fleet, following the appropriate training, as stipulated by the Supervisors, in line with service demands. The essential requirements of the role are possession of a HGV Category “C” License with significant demonstrable driving experience. Essential requirements are a willingness to undertake a pre-employment HAVS screening assessment, the ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with members of the public, and to have an understanding of the Council’s work plans and challenges in meeting standards and public expectations.Candidates will also be required to have experience of highways works and a willingness to work towards New Roads and Streetworks (NRSWA) qualifications as identified on the training plan, as essential requirements.The successful candidates should be able to work as part of a team as well as using own initiative and willing to undertake any training considered necessary for the post.Appointments are subject to successful candidates passing the Transport Department’s driving assessment.Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process.We welcome applications in Welsh, please complete .Closing Date: Thursday 11th April 2024 – 12:00am, midnightInterview Date: Friday 19th April 2024
