The project Officer will oversee the community volunteers, including providing induction, orientation and training.

 

Resources:

Oxfam will pay 40,500 IQD a day (depending on the working days), 500 IQD will be deducted for health insurance purposes.

Duration:

01 Mar 2024 to 31 May 2024

 

Key Deliverables:

Under the direct supervision of the field assistants, the community volunteers must support the following tasks:

  • Mobilize community participation in project activities; encourage active engagement and ownership.
  • Establish connections with communities and mobilize community members to engage in community-based committees activities.
  • Establishing, forming and inclusive community-based committees, youth and women groups.
  • Participate and assist in the organization of project events (practical training and workshops on collaboration between the local actors and the communities, consultation with communities, and mobilization of community members and leader, etc.)
  • Community mobilization and facilitating community Dialogues with the local authorities and service providers.
  • Assist and guide the submission of community initiatives/proposals.
  • Engage in project monitoring activities as relevant.
  • Respond and adjust to flexible activity scheduling, logistical constraints related to public space management, or social dynamics involving the community and it’s expectations.
  • Ensure timely completion and effectiveness of project interventions.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • To attend training and capacity building cycle on different topics including but not limited to, code of conduct, safe programming, safeguarding, confidentiality, and other related topics.
  • Uphold Oxfam’s code of conduct and safeguarding and ensuring that all people of concern are treated with dignity and respect, by the humanitarian principals and human rights standards.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in sociology, political science, social studies, or any relevant educational degree.
  • Zero to one year of work experience in the same position or field.
  • Fluency in Arabic language and good English is a plus.
  • Time management skills and effective problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work with both community members as well as local authorities in a sensitive and respectful manners and ensuring that all community members are represented.
  • Willing to work in all areas of Ninawa and Anbar.
  • Familiar with different districts context.
  • Must work well with ethically or religiously diverse groups.
  • Basic level of proficiency in word and excel.
