JOB SUMMARY 

Community outreach is an integral component of CO, MHPSS, CP and GBV services provided by IMC. the Community Worker Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the implementation of community outreach component of IMC programs in the field. Reporting directly to the Senior Community Outreach Officer.

 

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead CWs and coordinate activities to ensure that CWs stay active and productive in the community.
  • Help CWs to disseminate education messages to community members at their homes, in the community or at the supported PHC clinics.
  • Organize communication activities such as community meetings, drama, information campaigns, use of educational materials etc.
  • Act as the link between the IMC’s multidisciplinary team and the affected population at community level by reporting community comments or complaints, and by spreading information and performing community mobilization.
  • Assist supervisor and other IMC staff in follow-up trainings on community outreach topics. Actively participate in training and other IMC events.
  • Help organize weekly meetings in order to report information, attend training, and receive instructions regarding activities in the local community.
  • Coordinate with the supervisor and IMC staff regarding CW activities and responsibilities.
  • Ensure proper linkages are made between CWs and other IMC programs.
  • Gather data and report it on a weekly basis as well as during periodic surveys and help feedback findings to stakeholders and the community.
  • Help identify key practices to be addressed and help to plan and carry out appropriate activities to promote safe practices.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the community regarding program development and evolution.
  • Use resources effectively and with care.
  • Any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school degree is essential. Bachelor’s or diploma degrees would be an asset.
  • Male or female Candidate is required.
  • Ability to speak & write Kurdish (Badini – Kurmanji) and Arabic languages.
  • Ability to draft reports.

Experience: 

  • Good knowledge regarding outreach services.
  • Previous experience with NGOs in similar programs.
  • Up to 1- 2 years experience in community based project.

Competency: 

  • Local resident of the targeted area.
  • Fluency in Arabic and Kurdish, ability to communicate effectively verbally and writing in.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills necessary.
  • Understanding of community based programming.
  • Ready to take initiatives with teamwork.
  • Information seeking with analytical thinking.
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic , communication skills and Strong leading skills.
  • Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure.
  • Work closely with direct supervisor to smoothly implement the community outreach services.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity.
  • Attention to details, well organized and driven to results.
  • Respect the code of conduct and policies of the IMC and the standards

Other:

  • Travel on regular basis within Iraq and KRI areas.
