ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Central HR consists of multiple areas of expertise including Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Classification & Compensation; Employee and Labor Relations; Continuous Process Improvement, HRIS, HR Business Partners and Talent and Learning Management.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Applies specialized and theoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts of a professional discipline normally acquired through advanced education or specialized training.  Resolves issues and significant matters on behalf of management by utilizing independent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking.  Contributes to development and evaluation of goals and objectives.  Creates solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance.   Applies entry level knowledge, concepts, principles, and skills. Decision making occurs within defined parameters. Supervisor defines assignments, expectations, and deadlines. Supervisor may review work for quality. Demonstrates initiative and discretion to resolve routine and non-routine matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Addresses daily operational compensation questions and issues with both internal and external business units.
Assists in administering compensation and salary programs for both exempt and non-exempt employees to ensure internal and external equity.
Analyzes queries and reports from HRIS; Perform compensation data integrity analysis, identifies issues, and recommends efficiencies to correct. Performs compensation audits on a routine, scheduled basis.
Participates in annual and/or ad-hoc compensation surveys. Partner and collaborate on special projects.
May assist in performing administrative tasks to establish, maintain, and support all aspects of job and career development for all job titles across the university.
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor’s degree -OR- equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of one (1) year of HR experience required.
Working knowledge of Compensation, and General knowledge of one or more HR job functions
Ability to collaborate as part of a team
Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with leadership at all levels of an organization
Experience working on a project team
Ability to partner and build relationships with both internal and external business units.
PREFERRED:
Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skill using Excel as an analytical tool.
Experience with Peoplesoft HRIS including query systems.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Intermediate to advanced skill using Excel as an analytical tool.
