Miwatj Health is seeking for Complex Care Registered Nurse to provide meaningful healthcare outreach across the East Arnhem region. The primary objective of the care coordinator is to facilitate improved health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with chronic health conditions. T
he care coordinator will provide clinical care, enable clients to gain better access to holistic, culturally appropriate multidisciplinary primary health care and specialist and allied health services, support health education and self-management strategies. Engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities will be central to the design and delivery of program and services.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolnu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards.
With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
This role will see you working in a remote Aboriginal community. All applicants must have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolnu people living in remote settings. To apply, please ensure you have are eligible for registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse/AHP, minimum of 5 years’ experience as a registered nurse/AHP with a minimum of 2 years in a remote setting.
