JOB DESCRIPTION
Organization Mission
As the lead United Nations agency for international development, UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. We help countries develop policies, leadership skills, partnership capacity, institutional capacity, and build resilience to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Our work focuses on three areas: sustainable development, democratic governance and peacebuilding, and climate and disaster resilience.
Context
The northern regions of Côte d’Ivoire are heavily impacted by the socio-political situation in Mali and Burkina Faso, which has led to a massive influx of more than 76,000 asylum seekers.
This situation poses a challenge to social cohesion and peaceful coexistence between newcomers and host communities. It adds to the socio-economic and security challenges facing the area, including the spread of hate speech, the exacerbation of social divisions, the threat of violent extremist groups, and the recurrence of intercommunity tensions.
In response to and in line with the current priorities of the Ivorian Government (PsGouv2), the UNDP has implemented the “Conflict Prevention in the Gulf of Guinea and Libya” program, funded by the Japanese Cooperation Agency (JSB Funds). This program aims to strengthen social cohesion and prevent conflicts, hate speech, terrorism, and violent extremism in the Gulf of Guinea region and Libya.
To achieve this, communication and awareness-raising through community radio stations remain key strategies. These ToRs are therefore developed for the recruitment of support agents dedicated to facilitating the achievement of these strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Specifically, the volunteers will be responsible for:
– Proposing content and formats for interactive dialogues;
– Defining formats for interactive dialogues in local media;
– Developing tailored, culturally relevant and compelling messages for each specific context;
– Working closely with communication experts, the UNDP Northern project team and local partners.
Required Skills and Experience
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Academic Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the fields of audiovisual communication, content creation, audio/video editing or other relevant fields.
2. Professional Experience:
– Proven experience in creating communication content for awareness campaigns (media, social networks, radio).
– Previous experience with conflict prevention, violence reduction or peace promotion projects is an asset.

– Excellent writing and oral skills in French (good knowledge of English is a plus).
4. Personal Skills:
– Strong ability to adapt to multicultural contexts and work in a virtual team;
Sense of initiative, creativity and rigor in meeting deadlines
