As part of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Team, you will help ensure that high levels of data integrity and accuracy are always maintained. The CMDB is used to drive value, provide audit evidence and influence strategic decisions throughout the business and IT community, so attention to detail is critical in this role.

As a Configuration Management Analyst you’ll focus on ensuring all details for configuration items are accurate and complete in the CMDB- identifying issues and root cause for any inaccuracies.

You’ll be following the prescribed lifecycle process and procedures to ensure the registration, maintenance, and control of the CMDB, and ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data within.

The difference you’ll make.

  • Ensuring high levels of data integrity and accuracy are maintained in the ServiceNow CMDB
  • Controlling the CI update process ensuring that CI changes are reflected in a timely fashion
  • Maintaining CI relationships in the CMDB as per the Configuration data model
  • Developing metrics of CI management performance and reviewing Discovery jobs for completion and coverage
  • Creation and maintenance of reports, management information, and process documentation
  • Assisting in audits of the CMDB and proactively seek out data anomalies – identifying root cause and making recommendations for resolution

What you’ll bring.

  • Experience in Configuration Management in a ServiceNow environment and of working to an ITIL Framework
  • Expert data analysis skills and use of data analysis toolsets especially in auditing and maintaining the integrity of the CMDB
  • Experience in developing automations via python or other scripting tools
  • Solid understanding of technology stacks typically used in large organisations/ Excellent communication skills and evidence of being an effective team player
  • Proactive approach to working practise and problem solving ability
  • Ability to build working relationships with key stakeholders around the Bank including teams in Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Virtualisation, Enterprise Architecture and IT Security

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Experience in working with Cloud environments (Public and Private)
  • Experience of working in a Banking environment
  • Experience of working with datasets from other tools: Flexera, BigFix, SCCM, Aperture, AWS
  • Experience with a wide set of data manipulation or BI tools and IT Asset Management

This role is based in Milton Keynes and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.

1st Stage – Technical Interview – this will a 30min technical interview with one of the team

2nd Stage – A one-hour formal interview where we will ask both technical and competency-based questions. This can be done virtually or face to face depending on your situation.
