ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Senior Trainer (Connect) is responsible for supporting Trainees with their day to day-to-day activities, consisting of training and work experience, to meet and exceed their employment goals. Working in collaboration with Zone Managers and the Connect Team, the Senior Trainer will track Trainees and Paid Trainees progress and provide quarterly progress updates.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work on an individual basis with all Paid Trainees and Trainees to develop skills to ensure pathway into Connect is a smooth transition.
- Explore and guide alternative pathways for Trainees and Paid Trainees when required.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Provide guidance of best practice, train and mentor other Trainers working alongside the Zone Manager.
- Complete administration and reporting activities – daily notes, incident reports, Trainee progression tracking.
- Ensure the Zone is kept clean, neat and tidy and ensure adherence to Jigsaw’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Provide communication to trainees, allied health professionals, carers, and/or families
- Other ad hoc duties as required by the Zone Manager and Hub Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A relevant qualification in Training/Teaching/Disability/Allied Health and/or 2+ years previous experience in a position with transferable skills to the position
- Experience training employers in inclusive work practices
- Experience and knowledge placing people with disabilities into open employment.
- Possess a working knowledge of occupational health and safety practices
- Demonstrated experience in supervising a team

REQUIRED TO:
- Have the right to work in Australia
- Possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Workers screening check
- Possess a or be willing to obtain a First Aid and CPR (HLTAID009) Certificate
- Possess or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check
