The WY Conservation Coordinator provides administrative, research, project management and other general assistance to the Wyoming Protection & Stewardship Team. The WY Conservation Coordinator may manage conservation data, conduct due diligence, administer contracts, develop project packages, respond to landowner and partner inquiries, maintain project records, and monitor conservation easements. Work may be done in the field (easement monitoring) and in an office setting, compiling information collected by others. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.
Responsibilities and Scope:
- Schedules and administers team meetings (both internal and external), creating agendas, providing reminders, and recording meeting notes and follow-up items.
- Conducts due diligence for new projects and assists to other land trusts, including ordering and coordinating minerals reports and title work, drafting landowner correspondence, reviewing title work and water rights, preparing baseline reports, and writing memos.
- Identifies contractors for project due diligence or preserve work and drafts and administers contracts.
- Tracks project and contract progress, deliverables and timelines and sends reminders for the team and external due diligence providers or partners.
- Manages and organizes project files.
- Fields and responds to landowner and partner inquiries regarding new projects.
- Monitors conservation easements across Wyoming, either in person or using remote imagery, as assigned by the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, natural resources management or related field and 2
years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects.
- Experience handling standard business communications.
Desired Qualifications:
- 2-4 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, with assignments sometimes coming from a number of sources and work independently.
- Strong administrative skills including attention to detail and numerical ability.
- Ability to plan, administer and record results of work-team meetings and activities.
Office Location:
Lander, Wyoming preferred (remote work within Wyoming , depending on location)
Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $22.50 to $27.80 for an hourly wage. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate’s location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
