The Shenandoah Valley Soil & Water Conservation District has an opening for a full-time Conservation Technician. The Technician will focus on the implementation of the Virginia Agricultural Cost Share Program, which requires outdoor work. The Technician will also perform a range of administrative and technical duties pertaining to the implementation of the District’s programs.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Requirements for the position include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Google Workspace applications. Applicants must also have the ability to work independently and in a team environment, multitask in a hectic environment, prioritize, and communicate effectively. The ideal applicant will have knowledge of non-point source pollution control efforts, agricultural operations, soil and water conservation issues, and agricultural best management practices. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of background checks.
