The combined staff in UCL LCCOS totals around 440.UCL Museums and Cultural Programmes (M&CP) is a multidisciplinary team responsible for museum collections and spaces. We deliver events, public engagement activities, public art, performance, exhibitions and permanent museum displays. The Collection Management team within LCCOS M&CP directly manages our collections care and conservation programme and is responsible for object storage, transportation and documentation alongside managing our flagship teaching space the Object Based Learning Laboratory. We set the standards for collections care, conservation and documentation working with curatorial, programmes and exhibitions colleagues to ensure we maintain a quality, compliant and professional service-orientated approach that responds to the LCCOS and overall UCL strategies.About the roleThe Conservator enables the use, study, and display of UCL’s collections, undertaking and advising on conservation treatments and preventive conservation strategies. They are responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate standards for collections care across UCL Museums & Cultural Programmes, and for developing and implementing conservation and collections care plans.Manual handling and ability to lift heavy items are required to carry out this role.This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff.
