Background
Over the last two years, AKF has been working with adolescent girls and boys design teams Moyo and Obongi districts (West Nile Region, Uganda) to co-create a gender equity campaign titled ‘‘The Olu Alu Campaign’’. Olu Alu places adolescent girls and boys at the centre of sensitising their communities about a wide range of social issues including education, sexual reproductive health rights, parenting, child abuse, early marriages among others as lead social behavioural change protagonists. Olu Alu design leads have already benefited from expertise support and developed own pathways for multiple compelling campaign products that include radio episodes, deejay mentions, radio trailers, talk shows, songs, videos, dramas and community dialogue scripts among others.
Consultant scope of work
AKF is looking for an experienced video production consultant to undertake video production of Olu Alu songs and short documentaries. For this work, the successful consultant to interview and undertake raw video recordings with Olu Alu selected protagonists. The consultant will be responsible for:
- Proposing highly experienced video production team for undertaking the assignment
- Traveling to Moyo and Obongi to record the videos.
- Share with AKF raw videos recordings prior to editing and finalizing production.
- Participating in Olu Alu video production planning meetings organised by AKF.
- Review Olu Alu existing materials including campaign reports and other extracts.
- Integrate feedback during planning, recording, editing and finalizing of the video products.
Key deliverables
- Detailed plan for undertaking the assignment.
- High quality video for Olu Alu adolescent girls’ and boys’ slogan song (4-6 Minutes)
- Min campaign documentaries covering behind the scenes for pre-and post-Olu Alu campaign development and adaptation of 05 minutes and extended version (maximum 10 minutes)
- Avail AKF snippets of behind-the-scenes shots to augment the broader Olu Alu campaign on social media.
- Detailed end of project report
How to apply
Consultant (Individual or organization) interested in this opportunity should submit:
- A Three-page (maximum) technical proposal including a work plan (as annex) for undertaking this assignment (keeping in mind the above listed activities and key deliverables). The envisaged timeframe of the consultancy is from 13th May to 13th June 2024

- Itemized consultancy fees/costs
- Itemized administrative expenses (consultant’s transport, meals, accommodation among others)
