Purpose of consultancy:
The SRH Task Team (SRH-TT) under the Global Health Cluster (GHC) was established in November 2022, with the aim of ensuring that SRH priorities are systematically addressed in all phases of humanitarian response and that SRH is consistently included in cluster coordination at both the global and country levels.

Sub-group 7 (SG7) of the SRH-TT aims to develop and strengthen linkages between SRH and GBV in humanitarian response and focuses on identifying, strengthening, and coordinating priority SRH and GBV operational interventions.

The Best Practices in SRH-GBV Coordination Consultant will be responsible for compiling and documenting best practices in linking SRH and GBV coordination in humanitarian response.

Under direct supervision of the Global Humanitarian SRH Advisor (UNFPA) and in close collaboration with the SG7 SRH-GBV Coordination Technical Advisory Group (TAG), the SRH-GBV Coordination Consultant will:

● Meet with field visit team(s) to compile information on best practices collected through field visits, including relevant case studies;
● Review SRH-TT Coordination Baseline Assessment to extract details on best practices for linking SRH and GBV coordination;
● Meet with key members of SRH-TT / GBV AoR / REGAs to collect information on best practices;
● Conduct KII’s (remote) to document best practices on linking SRH and GBV coordination in emergencies;
● Produce and finalise SRH-GBV Coordination linkages best practice document , including recommendations for developing a coordination framework between SRH-TT and GBV AoR.

Deliverables:
● Week 1: Meeting with TAG held; work plan submitted
● Week 3: Document review completed and shared with supervisor, TAG
● Week 4-5: Key informant interviews documented, compilation of case studies;
● Week 6: Draft best practice document shared with TAG for feedback;
● Week 7: TAG inputs to best practice document incorporated and final draft presented to TAG
● Week 8: Final best practice document presented to SRH-TT and GBV AoR (webinar)
Monitoring and progress control, including reporting requirements, periodicity format and deadline:
Minimum weekly meeting with the supervisor to report on progress and address possible challenges.
End-of-consultancy report in writing (and shared by email with the supervisor) on process and deliverables.
The acceptance of services at the end of each month will be certified through a Certification of Payment to be countersigned by both parties (IC and UNFPA)

Expected Travel: Not anticipated

Required Expertise and Qualifications:

Education:
● Advanced University degree in Public Health, Global Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health or other related field

Knowledge and Experience:
● 5 years of work experience;
● Strong background including field experience in SRH and GBV in humanitarian contexts;
● Understanding of global health challenges particularly as relates to SRH and GBV in humanitarian contexts;
● Understanding of humanitarian architecture; experience as SRH or GBV Coordinator preferred;
● Excellent writing skills;
● Solid interpersonal and organisational skills, including timeliness; ability to respond to constructive feedback from technical review experts;

Languages:
● Fluent English is a requirement. Additional French, Arabic, and/or Spanish are of significant added value
