The UNICEF Country Office Development and Support (CODAS) section within Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) in Geneva, Switzerland, is seeking a Paid Media Digital Specialist to provide implementation support for the ECA, PSFR Clusters and related PSFR CO’s, in addition to supporting testing in MENA, ESA and WCARO regions ensuring they achieve their 2024 goals.

The incumbent of this consultancy assignment will work directly with the Cluster Managers and CO PSFR teams, CODAS (Digital, DRTV and Individuals consultant) and external agencies to ensure that the related PSFR entities achieve their 2024 goals and develop ambitious plans for 2025.

In addition, this role will work internally with the relevant stakeholders to develop tracking and reporting that will support the delivery of the goals.

How can you make a difference? 

Scope of Work:

Reporting to PFP Market Development Manager, CODAS and working closely with the wider team as well as PFP teams, the Cluster Managers and CO PSFR teams, CODAS (Digital, DRTV and Individuals consultant) and external agencies, the incumbent will:

o Be responsible for Paid Media including all digital communications aimed at generating visits, leads and conversions across related CO’s and Clusters, working closely with PSFR staff in CO’s and Clusters, CODAS and external agencies.

o Select and manage the relationship with external suppliers (agencies, systems and tools).

o Plan, execute and evaluate the investment strategy of the different channels and suppliers in order to obtain maximum profitability in terms of ROI and brand image.

o Plan, execute and evaluate the objectives, strategies and actions in the different digital capture channels: SEO/SEM, Display, Real Timing Biding, social media, affiliation, database capture actions. Looking for maximum volume and profitability in terms of ROI and brand image.

o Train digital personnel in CO’s on paid media, capacitate them to be able to manage future campaigns.

Specific responsibilities in SEM:

o Define the strategy for SEM campaigns in paid search engines.

o Daily monitoring of online advertising campaigns and proposals for their improvement Analyse and measure information derived from these campaigns. Monitor and report on the results.

o Detection of new opportunities that increase the ROI of advertising campaigns from the data obtained in the analysis.

o Optimize landing pages to maximize the conversion rate.

o Creation, management, and implementation of pay-per-click campaigns.

o Research, analysis, and identification of solid keywords.

o Budget management and analysis for remarketing and ROI analysis.

o Optimize existing campaigns and maximize return on investment.

Specific responsibilities in Social Media Ads:

o Define the social network advertising strategy aligned to UNICEF’s strategy in agreement with the CO PSFR and Comms.

o Develop, implement, and manage advertising campaigns on social networks (social ads) according to the objectives defined in the strategy, en: Facebook ads, Twitter ads, Instagram Ads, Youtube Ads, Pinterest Ads, LinkedIN Ads, etc.

o Proactively provide strategies in relation to campaign segmentation, target audience, campaign cost etc.

o Measure the profitability of each advertising channel; metrics and monitoring of relevant conversations.

o Plan, define, implement and optimize lead generation campaigns through social media or others channels.

Work Assignments Overview

Reporting on progression of goals v target on active digital campaigns in ECA Cluster and PSFR COs, in addition to relevant tests.

Deliverables/Outputs

Provide monthly progress report on the implementation of the plans v KPIs

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Education:

– An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or higher) in one of the following fields is required: Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Management, or another relevant technical field.

– Alternatively, a first-level university degree in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

– Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in developing and managing Paid Media campaigns and supporting implementation is required.

– Hands-on experience and understanding working in developing markets or for a UNICEF regional or country office is preferred.
– Proven experience working in a multi-cultural environment and with cross-functional teams to deliver on common goals.

– A strong understanding of UNICEF systems, processes, and operations of UNICEF regional and country offices is highly desirable.

Language:

– Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other UN official languages is a plus.

Remarks:  

Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees in USD against the deliverables listed above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
