Organizational Setting The Department of Nuclear Safety and Security (NS) formulates and implements the IAEA’s nuclear safety and security programme, which encompasses the IAEA’s activities to protect people and the environment from radiation exposure, and responds to the needs of its Member States related to nuclear safety and nuclear security. The Office of Safety and Security Coordination is located in the Office of the Deputy Director General, Head of the Department. Its mission is to ensure the technical consistency and effective coordination of the IAEA’s activities in the nuclear, radiation, transport and waste safety and nuclear security programmes. The Office comprises three Sections: the Programme and Strategy Coordination Section, the Networks Management and Partnership Section and the Safety Standards and Security Guidance Development Section. Main Purpose Under the supervision of the Section Head, Programme and Strategy Coordination Section (PSCS), Office of Safety and Security Coordination (NSOC), and in coordination with relevant staff in the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, the Consultant will provide support for the IAEA’s implementation of activities for the International Conference on Effective Nuclear and Radiation Regulatory Systems (RegCon26). The Consultant will support the arrangement of preparatory meetings, development of the scientific programme, review of abstracts and promotion for the Conference and is to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality conference meeting the needs of attendees and stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience
Remuneration The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 250, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent. |
