Bakerwell Ltd is recruiting for experienced Consultant
Ecologists with knowledge of BNG/QGIS to join a growing ecology team in a full time,
permanent position.
This permanent position will be based from
our Sussex or Kent office.
As a Consultant Ecologist at Bakerwell you can expect to get involved with delivery of all
elements of field surveys, assessment, tender, report writing and project management.
Key Responsibilities
Protected species and botanical surveys.
Design of habitat restoration / creation on schemes.
Habitat assessment, mapping and metric use for delivering Biodiversity Net Gain.
Providing technical leadership on projects.
Managing all stages of Ecological Impact Assessments from planning to delivery and monitoring.
Supported communication with our clients, providing sound ecological advice at all project stages.
Protected species mitigation license applications and supervision.
Providing guidance for junior / trainee ecologists.
Who we’re looking for
At least 3 years experience at ecologist level in the industry.
Graduate / Post-graduate degree in related topic.
Full UK Driving Licence, access to your own vehicle and be in a commutable distance from either our Kent or Sussex office.
Membership with CIEEM.
Hold one or more protected species license/s.
Experience in a range of field surveys, producing ecological reports and plans using QGIS.
Experience in UK Habs and the Defra Biodiversity Net Gain metric.
Experience preparing protected species mitigation licence applications..
Experience of managing projects, site supervision and liaising effectively with junior staff, clients, subcontractors and site staff.
Salary And Benefits
£24,000 – £30,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
