Location: The consultancy can be conducted remotely, with the flexibility to work from any location in the European Union. However, during the week of 1 to 7 December 2024, the consultant is required to be present in The Hague for the 23rd Session of the ICC Assembly of States Parties (ASP23).

Type: Full time for three months (38 hours/week)

Timeframe: 1 November 2024 – 31 January 2025.

Remuneration range: EUR 1,200-1,500 Gross per month, commensurate with the candidate’s experience

The Secretariat of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join its team as a Consultant for Operations Support in The Hague. The consultant will provide support to the Secretariat’s advocacy work and engagement with Coalition members, language and administrative tasks. This includes supporting the facilitation of civil access to and participation in important annual gatherings such as the annual Assembly of States Parties session. The Coalition is committed to ensuring the successful candidate has learning experience and gains exposure to the work of a small, dynamic, multinational team in a non-governmental organization and the broader international justice community in the Hague.

Tasks and activities:

  • Provide operational support and administrative support to Secretariat for ASP including registration, accreditation, side events, note taking and member support
  • Provide support—both research and administrative—to Coalition advocacy efforts with ICC States Parties and ICC officials;
  • Attend and report on meetings and events leading up to and including the Assembly of States Parties session taking place on 2-7 December in The Hague, the Netherlands
  • Support the organisation of virtual and in-person events, including drafting invitations, logistics, note-taking, and reporting; and
  • Support the Secretariat with multilingual communications and publications, including translations and informal interpretation to and from English, French or Spanish.

Qualifications requested:

  • Affinity with the values and mandate of the Coalition for the ICC. Previous experience in the international justice field, or with NGOs is an asset;
  • Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of an advanced undergraduate or graduate program in law, international relations, with a specialization in international criminal law, human rights or a related field;
  • Proficiency in English, as well as French and/or Spanish; additional languages are a plus;
  • Strong written and oral communication, research, and writing skills; and
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-cultural environment and within the constraints of tight deadlines.
