UNICEF Kyrgyzstan, in collaboration with Cle de Peau Beaute, is actively progressing with the execution of the STEM for Girls (STEM4Girls) project’s second phase, set to extend until November 2025. This project aims to improve education and job prospects for adolescent girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) areas through supportive school, family, and community environments. The proposal for the second phase has been developed and approved focusing on the following outputs: 1) Girls have knowledge and skills related to STEM, digital literacy, and relevant transferrable skills to make an informed choice of future profession and pursue their choice; 2) Girls and boys in target schools have increased leadership capacity and voice through enhance school-based participation models; 3) Teachers, school and pre-school, are able to teach STEM better and create safe and inclusive learning environments for girls and boys; 4) Peers, parents, caregivers, private sector, and communities support girls’ educational and life choices, and 5) Evidence generation to strengthen a knowledge base and policy advocacy for greater gender equality in learning and skills development spheres. The Country Office also remains committed to implementing a gender portfolio that involves a range of initiatives, including advocacy for the rights of girls and women, addressing gender-based violence, and promoting Skills for Girls initiatives
The consultant will report to the UNICEF ADAP Officer. S/he will be expected to work in close coordination with the Education programme, Gender Specialist, Programme Associate, Communications Officer, and other relevant UNICEF colleagues, partners and stakeholders at the national and regional level. S/he will have the following tasks:
- Provide technical support to implementing partners to deliver quality work as per their Programme Documents within the Skills for Girls portfolio.
- Provide strategic guidance on planning and coordination meetings to ensure quality implementation of activities and linkages between the components of the STEM4Girls project implemented by different implementing partners;
- Strengthen project partnerships with Government, private sector, and civil society partners;
- Provide updated information about the status and successes of the STEM4Girls project to State partners and
- other stakeholders;
- Conduct orientation training and other capacity-building activities for implementing partners on UNICEF
- processes and reporting requirements in collaboration with the UNICEF team as necessary;
- Provide the up-to-date analytical inputs (including beneficiary data disaggregated by location, sex, etc) for
- donor reporting and UNICEF internal reporting processes as per requirements;
- Review all the products presented by IPs (modules, videos, guidelines, textbooks, ToRs etc.) for quality
- assurance and cross check with UNICEF colleagues to ensure these products meet the organizational standards
- Provide technical support to develop consolidated annual work plan, based on the inputs of implementing
- partners and in collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders;
- Support the implementation of communications and visibility activities as per donor requirements, including learning sessions for girls, identification of speakers, etc.;
- Provide support to conduct donor missions to project sites, including virtual visits;
- In collaboration with Programme Officer and M&E, help monitor timely implementation of the logframe and M&E plan as per donor requirements;
- Conduct training sessions on the situation of girls in Kyrgyzstan and overall gender equality agenda, the introduction of project objectives at training events and workshops organised by IPs.
- Document lessons learned, best practices and success stories as required.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Social sciences, development studies or a related field. Master’s degree can be accepted with two additional years of experience in relevant area.
- Seven years of experience in the area of gender equality, empowerment of women and girls;
- Experience with school-based gender-responsive adolescent programming;
- Work experience in programme planning, management, coordination and implementation;
- Experience in facilitating partnerships with Government, civil society and private sector required;
- Communication skills in English and Russian; knowledge of Kyrgyz is an asset;
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team;
- Competent in using Microsoft Office applications;

The Environmental & Social Policy and Risk Department (CES) serves as the guardian of IFC Environmental and Social (E&S) policies and standards (for more information, visit https://www.ifc.org/en/what-we-do/sector-expertise/sustainability/policies-and-standards). The department is responsible for providing independent E&S expertise, advice, guidance, and review of E&S risk management across the Corporation. In addition, CES provides global support to IFC’s regional E&S teams, embedded in operations. IFC is committed to proactive problem-solving and response to stakeholder complaints and concerns related to the E&S impacts of IFC’s investments.  CES is looking for a highly motivated development professional to join the Stakeholder Engagement and Grievance Response (SEGR) team. The successful candidate will work closely with IFC’s Regional Departments and E&S, Industry, Communications & Outreach, and Legal teams to support regional and project-level CSO engagement, facilitate implementation of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) policy, and manage effective grievance resolution for project-affected communities. Duties and Accountabilities  •  Lead engagement and project support to enhance IFC’s responsiveness to stakeholder concerns, including E&S complaints brought to the IFC’s independent accountability mechanism, the CAO, or received directly by IFC (Direct Complaints), and concerns raised by CSOs. Advise project teams, and IFC clients on complainant engagement and contribute to problem-solving and complaint resolution. Strengthen IFC’s relationship with CSOs, fostering dialogue and building support for IFC’s operations and key institutional priorities. •  Liaise with CAO teams and support regional teams in the timely preparation and implementation of IFC’s responses to CAO cases.
