The Trust wishes to appoint a substantive Orthopaedic Consultant to accommodate demand in the sub specialty of Trauma, Limb reconstruction and bone infections. At present 16 incumbent surgeons share the trauma on-call rota and it is expected that the new appointee will join this rota.There are 3 fellowship trained limb reconstruction surgeons in the department. The successful candidate would join this team and will manage complex trauma, limb reconstruction and bone infections for the region.The orthopaedic department supports 2 full day orthoplastic lists. The bone infection team consists of two orthopaedic surgeons, one plastic surgeon, 1 radiology consultant and infectious disease consultant, who along with the infection coordinator manages a weekly MDT and monthly infection clinic.The Department provides services to the East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and acts as a tertiary referral center for complex cases such as foot and ankle, spine, paediatrics, pelvic injuries and limb reconstruction and bone infections.
