Timely delivery of a workplan.
- Training Materials and Self-Assessment Tool: – Timely completion of the self-assessment tool and the training materials on care and support systems, in collaboration with other consultants and inputs from other partners are incorporated, securing their alignment. – Effective delivery of coordination results and substantive support to the consultants involved in the development of these outputs.
- Research and Policy Documentation: – Effective support and timely human rights feedback to partners undertaking research, data and policy assessments on care and support systems in Colombia, Kenya, Mozambique, Panama, and Tanzania.
- Coordination with HRDU and partners: – Regular meetings are effectively organized with HRDU summarizing coordination efforts with ILO, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, and UN Women.
- Upon extension of contract: – Support activities provided to country projects in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
- Technical Assistance: – Technical assistance is delivered with good quality to States and partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD) funds two interconnected projects related to the care and support economy. The Projects Coordinator will oversee and support these initiatives under the guidance of the OHCHR-Human Rights and Disability Unit (HRDU) and report to the Human Rights and Disability Adviser. Scope of Work:
- Project Monitoring and Coordination: – Oversee the development of a self-assessment tool on care and support systems by other consultants. – Oversee the development of, and provide substantive support to, the methodological consultant responsible for creating training materials.
- Material Development and Feedback: – Offer feedback on developing research, policy assessments, and inclusion mapping. – Assist in the review of project materials across Colombia, Kenya, Mozambique, Panama, and Tanzania, upon demand.
- Broader Support: – Coordinate with ILO, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, and UN Women. – Depending on additional funding, extend support to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
- Support to Technical Assistance: – Support technical assistance on care and support
Qualifications/special skills
- Advanced degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Law or other disciplines related to Public Policy Experience in project coordination, research, drafting of documents, and policy analysis on disability rights is required. Experience with disability inclusive care and support systems is required. Experience on gender equality and women rights is required.
Languages
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of Portuguese is desired.
