UNICEF is looking for a specialist in ethnic-racial relations able to dialogue with public managers and local partners to foster PIA (Primeira Infancia Antirracista) implementation at national level to support the scale of PIA to different municipalities and Brazilian states, as well as to support the cooperation with the federal government.
The consultant will work remotely but requires one presential meeting to be held in August.

JOB CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF ACTIVITY/ASSIGNMENT
To address structural and institutional racism and support optimal development of children from communities most affected by xenophobia and racism, UNICEF Brazil launched “PIA – Primeira Infância Antirracista”, an strategy that aims at raising awareness of Brazilian ECD workforce about the impacts of racism on child development, as well as promoting qualified and humanized services for black and indigenous pregnant women, children up to 6 years old and their families. PIA has enabled the development of informative materials for ECD workforce and parents/caregivers, as well as in-person workshops that mobilized more than 2500 professional and community-based leaders in 08 Brazilian major urban centers. In order to support the scale of PIA to different municipalities and Brazilian states, as well as to support the cooperation with the federal government, UNICEF is looking for a specialist in ethnic-racial relations able to dialogue with public managers and local partners to foster PIA’s implementation at national level.
SCOPE OF WORK
Selected consultant will:
The activities can be conducted remotely but require the consultant to be present in one presential event in Brasília in 14-15th August 2024.
DELIVERABLES
Payment will be made upon delivery of three products:
Payments will be processed within 15 days of product approval by UNICEF staff.
DURATION OF CONTRACT: 7 months
TRAVEL PLAN
The values referring to displacements to Brasilia (one presential event), if needed, are included in this ToR. The Consultant will be responsible for researching and buying tickets, as well as booking accommodation. The values related to air tickets, transport, food and accommodation should also be estimated. A financial proposal must be submitted by applicants and include all the travel-related costs to Brasilia for 3 days in August/2024.
