BACKGROUND:
World Vision (WV) implementing a project in Salah al-Din, Anbar, Kirkuk, and Nineveh. The project aims to help integrate young adults, including IDPs, returnees, and host communities, into their societies and economies by providing alternative socioeconomic opportunities, providing mental health and psychosocial support, promoting equality between male and female and women’s empowerment, and engaging youth in building social cohesion.
The purpose of this consultancy/training is to deliver specialized MHPSS training to 40-55 of the DoH – Health Centers MHPSS staff from Anbar, Kirkuk and Ninawa in Erbil over two days, the training will be on psychosocial skills, psychosocial support in post-conflict contexts, with more serious mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and to produce an MHPSS manual/guideline adapt to the local context in Iraq for the MHPSS centers staff (governmental staff) to be used on daily bases during dealing with any MHPSS case.Key Objectives or tasks
The specific objectives required under this training/consultancy are:
1.Providing an MHPSS training package for personnel working in post-conflict settings.
2.Providing and facilitating a two-day MHPSS training on psychosocial skills, and psychosocial support in post-conflict contexts, with more serious mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to 45 – 55 of the health center staff (DoH staff) from Anbar, Kirkuk and Ninawa.
The purpose of this training is to enhance the capacity of the he
alth center staff on this topic and develop an MHPSS services manual.
3.Producing an MHPSS manual/guideline adapt to the local context in Iraq for the MHPSS centers staff (governmental staff) to be used on daily bases during dealing with any MHPSS case. This guide will enable the staff to receive mental health cases, identify the type of disorder and initial diagnosis, and deal with the cases at the primary health care center or MHPSS center level, whether by providing MHPSS sessions or referring the case to another service provider to receive medical treatment if required.
4.Conduct pre-post evaluations to assess the participant’s knowledge and capacity.
5.prepare, translate, and present training materials in Arabic.
6.Submitting a report for the training with suggestions and recommendations for the development of the workers in MHPSS centers in the future.
7.Providing orientation and induction of the MHPSS manual during the training days for the participants, recording any notes in order to develop the MHPSS manual/guidelines.
8.After the training, submit a comprehensive and simple MHPSS manual/Guidelines based on the participants’ notes and local MHPSS context. The manual should be in Arabic language and not more than 60 pages.
•The qualified candidate should be a mental health professional (psychologist, psychiatrist) with experience in humanitarian settings.
•More than 5 years of relevant and progressive experience working in mental health-related fields.
•Training and supervision experience required.
•Demonstrable experience creating and conducting MHPSS training, presentations, or workshops.
•Experience in developing mental health manuals, guidelines
•Familiar with the government’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Iraqi context.
•Specific qualification in ToT (training of trainers)
•Experience in preparing training material, organizing, and facilitating training, and capacity building
•Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
•Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in Arabic and English, are a must.
*Candidates should have certificates to prove their qualifications and experience.
