United Nations Volunteers is presently seeking an insurance specialist to lead negotiations with current insurance provider for medical, dental and hospital care, as well as life and disability insurance (including Malicious Act insurance) for both international and national UN Volunteers.    

Description of the Assignment: 

1. Review the insurance scheme report submitted by insurance provider, including the assessment of the insurance portfolio, performance, usage, coverage, trends and forecasts

2. Review the proposed changes to the insurance scheme and its pricing, including supporting data on the pricing formula, scheme experience statistics, and market information 

3. Provide technical advice to UNV on the proposed new insurance scheme and pricing for year 4 and year 5.  

4. Conduct negotiations with the insurance provider to secure pricing for years 4 and 5 in line with UNV requirements.  

5. Produce a report summarizing the review and results of the negotiation 

 

Period of assignment/services (if applicable): 20 days over the period August to September

 2024
