Eastern Forest Consultants-NC LLC, a North Carolina-based company, is seeking applicants to fill an entry to mid-level forester position at their Christiansburg, Virginia location. This is a labor-intensive field position, and the successful applicant should expect to spend >90% of their time working outdoors. Typical duties include conducting timber inventories, preparing timber sales, planting trees/running planting crews, and applying herbicides. The position may include a heavy amount of out-of-town travel (up to 50%) for which employee will be compensated.
Applicant should have an associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry or related field of study and be able to identify eastern tree species. Previous work experience in the forestry profession (especially related to applying herbicides and conducting timber inventories) is preferred but not required. The successful applicant must demonstrate an ability to work independently.
