This is a labor-intensive field position, and the successful applicant should expect to spend >90% of their time working outdoors. Typical duties include conducting timber inventories, preparing timber sales, planting trees/running planting crews, and applying herbicides. The position may include a heavy amount of out-of-town travel (up to 50%) for which employee will be compensated.
Applicant must have an associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry and at least 2 years of forestry work experience. Experience related to applying herbicides and conducting timber inventories is preferred but not required. The successful applicant must demonstrate an ability to work independently.
