Job Description

Strategy+, AECOM’s design consulting studio operates at the intersection of Business Transformation, Human Dynamics and Place Strategies and is looking for highly motivated applicants who possess outstanding analytical, communication and creative skills. The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary team of talented strategists and be responsible for supporting our state-of-the-art consulting projects which encompass world class corporations, healthcare and cultural institutions, universities, and local and federal government.

The Consulting Lead & Academic Strategy Advisor will be deployed within the Advisory team, which comprises of Asset, Project Monitoring, P3 Technical, Risk Management and Construction Business Intelligence advisory services.

This role involves working as a collaborative team leader, this individual will be responsible for excellence in leading, managing and delivering projects, including client interaction, communication, planning, research, data analytics, visualization, workshop facilitation, presentation preparation coordinating one or more project teams, undertaking business development and report writing with oversight from the Head of Advisory, PCC and wider Strategy+ leadership team. Our clients are located through the region and this individual may be required to travel up to 50% of the time. Initial deployment will be on an Abu Dhabi based project for a 12-month period.

Desirable Knowledge and Expertise

Candidates will be expected to possess deep expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Business strategy, data analytics, governance and operations planning.

  • Communication strategy branding and marketing.

  • Real estate strategy, planning and economics.

  • Creating and delivering change management strategies and organizational development plans.

  • Expertise in user research, design management, program management.

  • Design background in architecture, planning, interiors, product, or web design.

Technical Skills Range

Candidates will be expected to possess skills in one or more of the following:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign).

  • Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, Power BI data manipulation and analytics.

  • Web based data analytics, visualization and presentation software.

  • Project management, project work planning, scheduling and resource deployment.

  • Business development, market planning and client relationships.

  • Revit, GIS and/or other space planning / design systems.

  • Ability to lead workshops, focus groups and presentations.

  • Critical thinking and persuasive writing / speaking skills.

  • Familiarity with research methodologies and processes.

  • High degree of flexibility and the ability to lead multiple projects in multiple teams, across multiple markets.

Outline of Duties

  • Meetings with client leadership to provide guidance and determine direction.

  • Facilitating workshops with stakeholders and internal / external team members to develop consensus on the technical details that enable leadership directions to be fulfilled.

  • Coordination and direction of the technical work of management consultants, internal consultants, and designers to ensure clients operational requirements (from above) are synchronized across all workstreams.

  • Providing subject matter expertise in organizational / operational development would be desirable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years relevant post education experience.

  • Bachelor’s and preferably master’s degree in business, architecture, planning, social science, public policy or another relevant field.
