Camp To Belong Indiana (CTB-IN) seeks a contracted Camp Director to complete responsibilities with minimal supervision, reporting directly to the CTB-IN Board of Directors. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of camp administration and operation to include family communications, registration management, volunteer/staff recruitment, screening and management, and program leadership. This position also supports the organization and Board in fundraising, public outreach, and general operations. Individual must complete and file required tax returns in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Administration:
Work with the Board of Directors to establish and/or maintain partner relationships to include our relationship with a camp site partner.
Responsible for developing and executing a plan to recruit volunteers/staff.
Participate as required and appropriate in Camp To Belong Board meetings and Camp To Belong National activities.
Responsible for ensuring sound fiscal management for the organization, operating within the approved budget and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors to include support/leadership in fundraising, public outreach, and general operations.
Program Leadership:
Summer camp leadership in all capacities as described below and as required and needed.
Provide leadership to camp planning to include human resources management, logistics, and cabin/community life.
Co-lead/support staff/volunteer training program(s) leading up to camp session.
Coordination of supply procurement and management.
Coordinate and/or support all aspects of activity planning/management to include reunion events, specialty programs, and partner camp contributions.
Community and Partnerships:
Maintain an active role in community organizations and groups that strategically enhance Camp To Belong Indiana’s mission and work.
In conjunction with the Board of Directors, provide appropriate management of social media platforms.
Responsible for communication with potential CTB-IN families and staff/volunteers ahead of the Summer season.
Responsible for communicating in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary to the Board of Directors.
Support, and at times, lead fundraising, marketing, and community outreach efforts, in conjunction with project requirements.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to pass a background check
Strong work ethic, able to complete tasks with minimal support/supervision
Ability to effectively communicate, written and verbal
Past experience working with Camp To Belong programs or camp programs for youth in vulnerable circumstances
Ability and willingness to independently lead, facilitate, and manage programs, staff, volunteers
Two or more years’ nonprofit experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a contracted position with a one-year term of agreement to be reassessed annually
Individual must plan to file taxes according to Internal Revenue Service 1099 requirements
Must be able to work remotely from home, with access to all equipment needed to complete tasks
Position may require travel, specifically to/from camp in summer
Contracted annually, total stipend of $7,000, distributed in monthly installments
