Job Role: Contracts Engineer

Opportunity: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000I am currently working with a family run Piling & Foundations business looking to expand their presence in the midlands by adding a Contracts Engineer to their close knit Birmingham Office.The growth opportunities in this position are there with the view to develop this role into a contracts manager role with junior staff. The team work very well together and make time to socialise together outside the office. Being a small team this is a “all hands on deck” position with support needed across Design, Estimation, Project Management & more.Key responsibilities for this Contracts Engineer role:
– Working collaboratively with the team on Estimation, Design, Project Management and costings.
– Working on tenders and pre-starts before taking over projects to run through to delivery.
– Supporting in design stage of the project, qualifying designs before sign of by the senior Geotechnical engineer.
– Being flexible in your approach and willing to learn other areas of the business to contribute to the branch success.
– Use of technical knowledge to give quotations and advice on plans.
– Attending client meetings, representing the business and bringing solutions to issues.
– On going business development seeking out new projects and building long lasting relationships in the area.
– 50% Site and 50% office based work.Key requirements for this Contracts Engineer role:
– Must have a BEng in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering
– Good working knowledge of Geotechnical Standards and applicability to the construction and residential sectors.
– Able to build lasting relationships and communicate clearly.
– Experience in groundworks, earthworks, piling or foundations is preferred.
– Good understanding of design concepts and able to adjust plans.Package on offer for this Contracts Engineer Role:
– Salary up to £45,000 D.O.E
– Company Car/Allowance to be discussed.
