THE ROLE 

The role sits within the Support Services Directorate and is line managed by the Head of
Corporate Services. The work of the Directorate centres on providing the core business,
financial and administration advice and support necessary to enable the charity’s other
Directorates to work as effectively and efficiently as possible. Staff working in NEA’s
Corporate Services Team are skilled, knowledgeable, and passionate about their roles and
helping people, providing a range of services to the managers and staff of the charity.

This post is responsible for ensuring that contracts and agreements support the organisation’s
charitable objectives while managing risk and promoting compliance. You will have demonstrable
previous experience in contract management. The successful candidate will possess a combination
of legal knowledge, financial acumen, and strong communication skills to be effective in
facilitating successful partnerships and agreements. 

The appointee will be able to evidence their experience in these areas, ensuring
confidentiality, compliance and mitigation of risk. With a commitment to continuous
improvement, the Contracts Manager will seek to improve efficiency, streamline processes and
stay up to date on best practise and contract law. 

What you will need to succeed

The right candidate will have demonstrable experience in contract management. Possessing
excellent communication and interpersonal skills you will have the ability to prepare and
review contracts ensuring legal compliance, and to confidently negotiate contracts, agreements
and grants with various stakeholders including, legal advisors, funders, partners, and service
providers. 

It will be your duty to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and regulatory
requirements and you will be able to evidence your experience and knowledge of contract law and
compliance. 

You will be familiar with financial principles and budget management, working alongside the
finance and BI teams to ensure that contract budgets are accurately tracked and reported.
Attention to detail will be key in this role as well as being highly organised with the ability
to manage multiple contracts simultaneously, working collaboratively and alone in a fast-paced
environment. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join National Energy Action and we would expect the
successful candidate to be able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and objectives of NEA
and to the eradication of fuel poverty. 

We are offering

  • £38,006 – £42,169 per annum (Scale Points 29-33) plus London weighting of £3,300 if
    applicable 
  • 11½% non-contributory pension. 
  • 25 days annual leave (FTE) plus 3 additional days in between Christmas New Year Period when
    our offices close; plus all local public holidays (within the region you are based) per annum.
