Launch Housing Southbank is a residential facility with 41 single rooms and 5 couple rooms. The service provides temporary supported accommodation (for up to 12 weeks with the possibility of an extension). The Coordinator – After-Hours will primarily be working with a second Coordinator – After-Hours and will work with a multi-disciplinary team including a case management team, health response team and an Alcohol and Other Drug team. The Coordinator – After-Hours is responsible for rostering, processing timesheets and supervising a team of After-Hours Support Workers.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing effective leadership to their team to ensure service provision is delivered in an efficient, consistent and professional manner. You’re responsible for day to day operations and to support a service operating 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

As a Coordinator, you’ll ensure that your team is well informed about Launch happenings. We’ll look to you to role-model our values, be approachable and ensure that every team member has a development plan. You’ll support their performance through regular supervision and feedback, and use mistakes as opportunities to learn and grow where appropriate. You’ll set clear and fair performance expectations for the team, including setting appropriate boundaries around client work to keep their staff safe.

YOU WILL:

  • Provide leadership using a best practice, trauma-informed and value-based leadership approach in line with the Launch Housing Leadership Framework.
  • Put in place professional development plans and supervision processes in place for all staff within the team.
  • Participate in the recruitment process and leading the induction and training of new staff members.
  • Be accountable for all operational activities of the crisis service ensuring the provision of consistent and high-quality services with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Provide supervision and support the performance development of staff in accordance with relevant Launch.
  • Housing policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call roster.

What we’re looking for (key selection criteria):

  • Demonstrated experience in client facing human services, social work or other relevant discipline, with a preference for an understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems.
  • Experience supporting staff who work with people with complex needs.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and previous experience managing staff.
  • High degree of initiative and analytical skills, including well-developed organisational and time-management skills and having strong risk assessment and management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.
  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).
