Job description

The Role

The Inclusivity Coordinator role is responsible for the following key functions within the WQPHN organisation:

  • Advising and supporting Senior Management and Executives to integrate inclusivity into planning, commissioning, and collaborations with Alliance partners, ensuring positive outcomes for individuals living with disabilities and diverse communities.
  • Building meaningful relationships within WQPHN and externally to advance diversity, inclusion, and belonging across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage initiatives focused on cultural change, workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion, including program design, training, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support the development and execution of the regional Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, guiding projects from concept through delivery and evaluating impact.
  • Collaborate with priority populations (e.g., First Nations groups, LGBTIQA+ communities) to embed their perspectives in WQPHN’s service planning.
  • Coordinate the implementation of policies, project frameworks, and social procurement commitments that align with inclusivity goals.
  • Monitor and report on diversity and inclusion project outcomes, using data to assess progress and drive continuous improvement.

The Right Person

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health or human services or equivalent experience in a social service setting.
  • Experience with diversity and inclusion principles, staying current with trends and best practices.
  • Strong project management abilities, with experience in data analysis, program design, and implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, present complex ideas, and engage diverse groups.
  • A high-level understanding of the needs of regional, rural, and remote communities, and the ability to represent WQPHN professionally and autonomously.
  • Proficiency with computing applications (e.g., SharePoint, word processing, spreadsheets).
  • A current, unrestricted Australian driver’s licence.

Our Working Environment

Ideally, this critical role will be based within the WQPHN region in Longreach, Mount Isa, Winton or Roma; however, applicants are welcome to apply from across the state. Hybrid work-from-home arrangements also apply. The remuneration package for this role includes attractive tax-exempt salary packaging options.

Our Commitment to Reconciliation

WQPHN is committed to undertaking all work within a culturally inclusive, sensitive and safe framework that supports Reconciliation. The WQPHN Reconciliation Action Plan shows our commitment and dedication to embedding reconciliation initiatives into our everyday work.

Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged for all WQPHN positions.
