The Role

The Environmental Planning Coordinator leads a small team to deliver best practice environmentally sustainable development for our growing community.
The role provides technical planning advice to internal and external stakeholders relation to the protection and enhancement of natural values, native vegetation retention and offsets, preservation of waterways; environmentally sustainable design, sustainable energy generation, energy efficiency, integrated water management and circular economy.
The role will support the City of Whittlesea to protect the environment for current and future generations.
About you
You will have demonstrated experience in environmental planning, preferable in environmental sensitive and/or growth areas.
You are passionate about a range of Environmentally Sustainable Design topics and trends with a focus on local governments role in implementation.
You will be able to identify opportunities and strategic directions available to Council, to facilitate the adoption of effective practices by the community, developers and Council.
You understand the need to develop and maintain effective relationships between all levels of government, industry, agencies, communities, internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and delivery best practice environmental planning outcomes.
