About Dutchess Community College:
Located in the heart of New York’s beautiful and historic
mid-Hudson Valley, just 90 minutes north of New York City, Dutchess
Community College (DCC) is one of 64 colleges within the State
University of New York, the largest comprehensive public higher
education system in the country.

DCC’s strategic direction is guided by four lenses through which we
view our work: Students. Learning. Community. Growth. We are
committed to respecting individuality, embracing diversity, being
“student-ready,” partnering with and serving our community
inclusively. The College welcomes and seeks to grow pools of
prospective employees who share and are anxious to support the
institution’s core values: Excellence. Collaboration. Engagement.
Equity. Innovation.

The History of the DCC Foundation

The DCC Foundation was incorporated in 1975 to advance the mission
and goals of Dutchess Community College. It became a 501(c)3
nonprofit corporation in 1984 with assets totaling $280,069. As of
August 31, 2023, the Foundation’s assets total $17,500,000. This
growth provides for scholarships and grants in excess of $900,000
each year.

Additionally, the Foundation supports endowed chair programs,
student technology, facilities and campus improvements and sponsors
a variety of special programs to support the College’s
mission.

We are able to do this through the generosity of our alumni and
friends that have made the DCC Foundation a philanthropic priority.
Funds are raised through our annual fund, major gifts and special
events programs. This support makes a measurable difference
financially for our students.

The Dutchess Community College Foundation has become an integral
part of the College’s drive to maintain excellence and to improve
the educational experience for present and future students.

The Mission of the Dutchess Community College Foundation

The DCC Foundation is to raise funds to provide scholarships and
support the College’s initiatives that will have a significant and
direct impact on the students, faculty and staff of Dutchess
Community College
