We are seeking applicants for the position of The Coordinator for International Student Services in our Student Affairs in our Qatar Campus.
Arabic language speaker is highly preferred.
The Coordinator for International Student Services is a key member of the Student Affairs Team that supports, plans and directs student development opportunities and programs. They are primarily responsible for coordinating the immigration process for students, managing the study abroad and campus exchange programs for fall, spring and summer, and fostering international student support as well as develop programs to enhance the inter-cultural growth of the entire student body.
Core Responsibilities include;
Coordination of Immigration Process:
● Coordinates immigration process for international student community as related to on-boarding orientation, obtaining and renewing Qatar student visa, entry and exit permits, residence permits, and sponsorship transfer process, in collaboration with the QF immigration department.
● Maintaining accurate electronic and paper/file records
● Consistently staying abreast of all immigration changes and effectively communicating/accounting for these changes in a fast paced and constantly changing environment on a broad range of regulatory matters. Communicating changes to the international students and ensuring students are compliant with immigration policies to maintain their student visa.
Manage Study Abroad and Campus Exchange Programs
● Support campus exchange and study abroad opportunities by managing the application process and presenting at pre-departure and informational workshops about the campus exchange process and deadlines. Liaison with the enrollment services and financial aid manager, and the administrator for academic programs to support the growth of global study initiatives.
● Advise students one on one about the campus exchange process: Collect, verify and manage documents for I-20 issuance for campus exchange, review documents and respond to requests from the Office of International Education in Pittsburgh to ensure smooth transition for campus exchange students visiting both the Pittsburgh and Qatar campuses.
● Advise students one on one about study abroad options and support student with student visa process for international study opportunities.
● Design marketing and outreach materials for campus exchange and study abroad options
Events and International Student Support:
● Develop programs that support international students and highlight intercultural learning such as: Workshops & events on cultural adjustment, engagement opportunities during academic calendar breaks to explore Qatar culture or hosting signature campus wide events or programming.
