Job Profile Summary
Under limited supervision, this position provides and oversees a diverse range of coordination and support activities for the Public Safety Department Establish, develop, and coordinate the institution’s Clery Act Compliance programs at all Broward College locations while serving and acting as the institutions Clery Compliance Officer. Serves as the Accreditation Manager regarding the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA).
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, criminal justice, emergency management or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Minimum Experience/Training:
- Four or more years’ experience in public safety compliance or similar field.
- Experience in coordinating a program in Public Safety or Emergency Management in higher education preferred.
- Experience complying with the requirements of the Clery Act and public safety accreditation preferred.
Minimum Certification/Licenses:
- Clery Compliance Officer certification is preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Daily – 30%: Assists the Associate Vice President of Public Safety with department goals and objectives.
- Daily – 20%: Coordinates all Clery compliance requirements and serves as the Clery Compliance Officer.
- Daily – 15%: Serves as Accreditation Manager to establish, develop, and coordinates departments operational directives, and standards.
- Weekly – 10%: Acts as a liaison between other College departments as needed.
- Weekly – 10%: Creates reports for college and public distribution pertaining to safety, security, and emergency management.
- Weekly – 5%: Researches, develops, initiates, and evaluates new and existing training programs. related to public safety compliance.
- Weekly – 5%: Develops and maintains the Public Safety website.
- Other – 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge in public safety, emergency management, and compliance standards.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external community members.
- General understanding of the College’s structure, policies, and practices.
- Experience in project and resource management and coordinating activities and programs.
- Ability to exchange information with individuals and collaborate with colleagues within the College.
- Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse population, to include effective presentation skills.
- Fully proficient in professional and functional standards and protocols of position.
- Requires advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments i.e. Microsoft Office Products,web design and web management
