Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, oversees the day-to-day operations of a facility, a large laboratory or several laboratories.

General Duties
The person:
• Organizes, distributes and verifies the work of others and participates in their training,
• Establishes priorities and schedules of projects,
• Coordinates execution of projects and service,
• Prepares quotations,
• Develops procedures and makes recommendations to improve unit efficiency,
• Develops methodology,
• Analyses and interprets data,
• Acts as resource person, resolves problems and instructs others,
• Administers accounts,
• Prepares budget proposals.

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Work Experience: At least two (2) years relevant work experience

Professional Membership: ☐ Yes ☒ No

Other Requirements:
• Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
• Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.

Pay Scale: $21.73 to $32.60/hour, commensurate with education & work experience
Work Shift: To be determined
