Job Description

AECM is currently seeking a Cost Consultant for our New York office location. As a Cost Consultant, the colleague will be involved in a number of projects and project teams at the same time, at various stages of the projects’ lifecycle, from inception through close-out, varying in complexity and value.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Estimating:

  • Estimates at various stages of design development

  • Financial feasibility / viability assessment

  • Assess and compare various project options

  • Review / reconciliation of bid documentation

  • Cash flow forecasting and analysis

  • Life Cycle Cost Analysis

  • Value Management / Value Engineering

  • Risk Analysis / Risk Management

  • Research and determine benchmarks against similar projects

Procurement:

  • Prepare and issue Requests for Information/Requests for Qualification/ Requests for Proposal

  • Respond to vendor queries

  • Level and analyze bids and issue analysis report and recommendation

  • Prepare purchase orders, letter agreements, and contracts for all appointments (consultants/ contractors/sub-contractors)

Project Controls:

  • Prepare monthly financial reports

  • Review and advise on uncommitted balances

  • Review and advise on contingency balances

  • Review vendor invoices / applications for payment

  • Lead the change control process

  • Project financial close-out

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work

Preferred Requirements

  • Project Controls or Estimating background preferred

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is: $61k-$90k
