OUR STORY
The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.
The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE
COUNCIL GOVERNANCE COORDINATOR – SP007 – ALICE SPRINGS
CL 6 $83,728.00 progressing to SO C $115,905.00
The Council Governance Coordinator will coordinate all activities relating to Council governance including meetings, training and development. The role provides corporate secretariat services to coordinate meeting agenda, papers, and meeting records for both meetings and elections. The role liaises with other sections to coordination the logistics of council meetings. The role is responsible for leading the governance and training program and facilitating the engagement of consultants for these purposes. The role will coordinate governance improvements, election processes and tools, and various governance projects to support the effective functioning of the Council meeting, within the guidance of the Council, Executive Committee, and the CEO.
The candidate will exhibit strong community engagement, corporate record keeping, consultation, researching and reporting capabilities, communication skills, and an attention to detail and accuracy. Bringing a continuous improvement and capacity building approach to assist the administration and Council in the operation of effective Council meetings, council member governance development, and two-way learning for all meeting participants.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
