About the assignment
We’re looking for a Counselling Services Support Officer who can live and volunteer in Tonga for 12 months.
About the Position:
You’ll be conducting training to enhance staff capacity in managing the Counselling Support Services provided for students and interested parties.
You’ll need demonstrated experience in designing and carrying out training programs on counselling skills and peer support.
You’ll gain an experience volunteering in the international development sector in Tonga.
About the Partner Organisation:
The Tupou Tertiary Institute (TTI), through the Joint Venture Agreement between Tupou High School and the Whitireia Community Polytechnic of Porirua, Wellington, New Zealand, has made possible the extension of the Whitireia’s NZQA accreditation to cover for the delivery of New Zealand accredited programs at Tupou High School.
More programs were added in the later years and students in Tonga are now able to access New Zealand qualifications locally, and building from there TTI currently offers Certificate and Diploma Programmes in corporation with New Zealand tertiary institution in Business, Information Technology, Architectural Technology and Teaching Studies.
This in-country assignment will better prepare for and manage the social problems that are affecting TTI’s students, staff and community at large. The counselling Support Services primary program focus is on the students while also supporting the staff and all interested parties.
