About the opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Family Services team to contribute to the well-being of our community through therapeutic counselling and support. As a Counsellor for Family Services, your role will be integral to the service response for families in need.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing therapeutic counselling services to foster safe, stable, and nurturing environments for vulnerable children and families.
- Designing and implementing customised therapeutic interventions to positively contribute to the adjustment and development of vulnerable children.
- Providing professional development opportunities for professionals and community stakeholders, ensuring effective approaches and contemporary knowledge are used in working with vulnerable children and families.
- Working collaboratively as part of a care team to provide comprehensive support to children within their family context.

About you
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, or social work or other relevant qualifications will be considered.
You will also have:
- Full Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA or Mental Health Accredited Social Worker eligible for AASW membership or Counsellor accredited through ACA or PACFA (desirable).
- Experience providing assessments, therapy / counselling services to children, adults, couples, and families with complex needs. This would mean that you have completed counselling with complex clients.
- Experience providing family and/or couple relationship counselling (desirable).
- Experience facilitating psycho-therapeutic groups (desirable).
