The SRC is supporting the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) in its humanitarian response as well as in its institutional strengthening. To coordinate the SRC’s support at national level, we are looking for a Country Coordinator Ukraine (100 %), starting 1st August 2024 or as per agreement.
What you will be doing
- Manage the program and partnership with the URCS at national level, incl. defining, adapting and monitoring of the SRC country program strategy for Ukraine
- Support URCS in the implementation of their overall strategy by facilitating technical expertise and strategic guidance
- Coordinate SRC’s support to URCS, including National Society Development and all national-level initiatives (in the areas of health, basic needs, shelter and National Society Development)
- Ensure alignment of SRC activities in Ukraine with the localization of aid approach as well as sustainability for long-term support to URCS and overall SRC strategy
- Participatory facilitation of project and proposal design as well as monitoring and evaluation processes, and development of relevant joint monitoring and accountability systems with URCS
- Assume financial and administrative responsibility of the SRC’s program and projects with URCS, incl. overseeing financial reporting, evaluations, audits and coordinating grant and reporting processes to donor agencies
- Provide guidance and support to both SRC field offices in the management and implementation of various responses, incl. overall security management for the SRC personnel in country
Your profile
- University degree in management, international cooperation, social sciences or other relevant discipline with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the coordination and management of large programs, partnerships and teams in fragile contexts in humanitarian response or international cooperation
- Analytical and strategic thinking, with strong leadership, facilitation and participatory management skills
- Solid experience in financial management and administration of humanitarian or development operations
- Diplomacy, sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to adapt to a fast-changing work environment
- Experience with localization of aid approaches and capacity strengthening of national/local partners
- Proficient written and spoken English; a good command of Ukrainian or Russian language is an asset
- Demonstrated experience with working in the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement
