COUNTRY OFFICE COUNTY COORDATORS (SSA)

Tasks and responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of EPI and WHE team leads with overall supervision of the WHO country Representation, the county coordinator shall perform the following tasks:

1.Support health sector and partner’s coordination in the county.

2.Support EPI service delivery through periodic update of micro-plans, RED/REC operational plans, conduct of SIAs, routine immunization (fixed sites, outreach, PIRI), active search for AEFI/AESI, AFP and other VPDs surveillance; update of VPDs surveillance work plans & sites, integrated supportive supervision (ISS) and data analysis & use.

3.Support Emergency preparedness and response to public health threats (EPR including IDSR)

4.Support delivery of essential medicines, vaccines and other supplies to the last mile.

5.Support county health teams to implement RMNACH&N, flagships, Mass Drug Administration campaigns, surveys, Joint assessments, gap identification, integrated supportive supervision with the CHTs and Partners to districts or health facilities

6.Provide technical support to CHT, partners and key stakeholders including sharing of health information, WHO approved guidelines, standards and best practices.

7.Perform any other duty as assigned by the supervisor/ WHO Representative.

Deliverables

1.Monthly progress reports every 5^th of the next month and annexes e.g. specific activity and reports that are shared with relevant units within WHO country office;

2.Minutes of monthly county health coordination meetings

3.Health partners mapping

4.EPI micro-plan available at the Health Facilities, District and County levels

5.Annual RED/ REC operational plans available at Health Facilities, District and County levels

6.Online weekly VPDs ISS and eSurv checklists completion

7.Monthly EPI and VPD data verification and harmonization at the county, district and health facility levels

8.Reports on Risk and needs assessments, outbreaks response, SimEx, IPC and risk communication

9.End of contract report

Educational Qualifications

Essential

·University Degree in a health-related area or Public Health

Desirable:

·Master of Public Health (MPH)

Experience:

Essential 2-5 years of experience working with immunization program

Desirable:

Working with UN organizations

Key Requirements:

Working experience working in the health sector and public Health

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with CHT, other agencies, partners and stakeholders at county level.

Experience with facilitating dialogue/meetings with multi-stakeholders across multiple sectors.

Functional Skills and Knowledge Required:

1.Technical expertise in public health, health systems strengthening

2.Ability to provide sound technical advice and guidance to CHT, partners and other stakeholders

Travel: Travel outside the county of assignment follows the WHO normal standards.

Duration : 6 months
