Country Representative DAHW Afghanistan (m/f/x)

AGIAMONDO e.V. places qualified specialist personnel on the basis of the Development Workers Act (EhfG) for the international cooperation of church and civil society organizations. 

DAHW – German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association, was founded in 1957 as a leprosy relief organization in Würzburg and is today a leading expert in the fight against poverty-related and neglected diseases. Its focus is on particularly vulnerable people who are affected or threatened by illness, disability, exclusion and poverty. As the umbrella organization for LEPCO, DAHW is committed to the reduction and control of leprosy and tuberculosis in Afghanistan, with 65 employees in Kabul and in seven clinics. 

On behalf of DAHW, AGIAMONDO is looking for a Country Representative DAHW Afghanistan (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible.

 

Your tasks:

Governance and leadership:

• Initiation and management of the re-registration process
• Ensuring compliance with legal requirements
• Active management of the organization and employees on site
• Initiating an organizational development process to strengthen internal structures and systems

Program management:

• Steering and technical advice for the programs
• Monitoring program activities and compliance with international and local regulations
• Ensuring that projects achieve their objectives on time and within budget
• Regular site visits to support and monitor projects

Program development and resource acquisition:

• Development of strategic plans in line with DAHW’s core sectors and objectives
• Communication, networking and relationship building with donors and partner organizations
• Identifying new project opportunities and tracking funding trends
• Building and maintaining partnerships with external agencies

 

Your profile:

• Master’s degree in a relevant field or Bachelor’s degree with relevant professional experience
• At least ten years of professional experience in implementing emergency programs in a conflict environment, including at least five years in a leadership position managing multidisciplinary teams
• Solid background and knowledge of USAID, ECHO, EC, DFID (BMZ and AA) rules and regulations.
• Proven experience working with local governments, rural communities, other NGOs, UN agencies and other international actors in relief and development.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and strategic planning skills.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Dari and Pashto is an advantage.
• Citizenship of an EU country or Switzerland.
