Teaching Qualification Requirements:

Education 

  • Recognized high quality educator with a completed or nearly complete doctoral degree in Second Language Education or related area in the education field.

  • Masters degree in an applicable field may be considered if combined with significant relevant experience.

Experience 

  • Expert knowledge and experience of course content related to teaching classes in the Sec/Elem level.

  • Extensive successful experience teaching similar courses at the graduate level.

  • Experience as a School Administrator, Community Leader and/or Master Teacher with experience teaching in schools and and experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) preferably in the Quebec education system.

  • Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP)

  • Familiarity with the 12 professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.

Other 

  • Knowledge of the impact and proven record of integrating pedagogical approaches anchored in equity, diversity and inclusion.

  • Familiarity using MyCourses, Zoom, and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences.

  • Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset.

  • Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital and pedagogical teaching and learning tools.

  • A commitment to working with a team of committed and engage instructors.

  • Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the course start date.

Other information:

  • Contract Start Date: 1 week before course start date.

  • Contract End Date: 2 weeks after course end date.
